It is our mission to promote the ideas and basic values of social democracy, including social justice, political participation and the labour movement. Since part of this mission is to foster sustainable socioeconomic development and to promote the democratisation process in our partner countries, we are trying to contribute to the
- consolidation of a democratic, pluralistic political culture by means of political education for all groups of society,
- promotion of economic reforms and a policy of social justice,
- intensification of regional co-operation between states and different interest groups,
- strengthening of free trade unions,
- development or improvement of independent media structures,
- implementation of human rights,
- encouragement of civil society groups,
- resolution of the North-South conflict.
