Public Sector Pay and Wage Reforms in Ghana

Agenda 2012 is a programme designed to promote policy dialogue between registered political parties and partners of FES. The main aim is to influence the parties' manifestos and their agenda from 2009 to 2012 if they win power. A number of such dialogue sessions have been held between the political parties and the GTUC on Making "Employment a Central Theme of Ghana's Poverty reduction process" and "Public Sector Wage and Pay Reforms - the way forward". The session between Abantu for Development and the political parties looked at making gender a campaign issue. So far the programme has drawn the FES partners and the political parties closer in taking a critical look at these policy issues which should engage parties' attention irrespective of which party wins power.
