The FES in 2007 facilitated the setting up and launching of the Inter-Party Youth Committee (IPYC). IPYC is made up of the National Youth Organisers of the four political parties with representation in Parliament. The aim of IPYC is to promote dialogue and healthy discourse and understanding among the youth devoid of partisanship and sensationalism which could trigger violence. The concept has since been launched in all ten regions of Ghana under the theme "Youth for Peaceful Elections 2008". This programme has widely been seen as a novelty as characterised by the friendship and open discussions that normally takes place during the launch. It is hoped that after the 2008 December elections, IPYC would refocus its attention on very pertinent national issues and develop youth perspectives on such issues to influence national policy.
